A laboratory blackout curtain system was designed, manufactured, and installed for a university laboratory requiring complete light control for a laser-based research environment. The project was handled entirely in-house, ensuring precision and quality throughout the process. From initial design to final installation, the project was completed within four weeks.
The project began with a detailed consultation to understand the laboratory’s specific requirements. The primary objective was to achieve total light exclusion to maintain optimal conditions for laser use. A heavy-duty, light-blocking fabric was selected, ensuring no light penetration while also being durable and fire-retardant to meet safety regulations. The curtain system was designed for smooth operation, allowing researchers to easily adjust the setup as needed.
Once the design was approved, the blackout curtains were custom-manufactured in-house to precise measurements. The curtain tracks and mounting hardware were also produced to ensure integration with the laboratory’s existing structure. The fabric was carefully treated and tested to confirm its ability to block all external light sources effectively.
Installation was carried out by our experienced team, ensuring a secure and light-tight fit. The work was coordinated with the university to minimise disruption to laboratory operations. After installation, the curtain system was thoroughly tested to ensure complete blackout conditions were achieved. The project was successfully completed within the four-week timeframe, delivering a high-performance blackout solution tailored to the university’s laboratory environment.
